King of Colosseum II is a professional wrestling video game featuring wrestlers from New Japan Pro Wrestling, All Japan Pro Wrestling, Zero One, Pro Wrestling Noah, World Japan and freelance wrestlers. The game was developed and published by Spike and only released in Asia.
King of Colosseum II has several game modes, including Match Maker, Survival Road, Dojo, Exhibition Match, Title Match and Wrestler Edit/ Wrestler Create. Match types are varied and include UWF and MMA style rules. You can change various rules such as 10, 20 or no count outs, submissions only and even rounds.
The grappling system in the King of Colosseum series is unique. First a person must perform a grapple (there are several different types including Exploder position, Vertical suplex position, Belly to belly position, and so on). From there the player must press either square, circle, triangle, X or R1 to perform a move from that position at a specific time (the timings can be learned through trial and error or via the Dojo mode). If you press triangle and circle or square and X you could perform a Powerball move - a finisher or very powerful move.
